Molly Baxter
by Ashliegh Gehl
Down at Wall Street the clunking of high heals become a successful melody. For Molly Baxter and her pair of flat ruby slip on shoes, it is nothing more than the modern day elite basking in conformity. Everyone has a black leather brief case and each one is filled with numbers. Tall sky scraping buildings sway from side to side as the sun takes its time climbing from one horizon to the next. Each building has a grey scaled face that matches the colour of the depressing side walk. From a high rise office building Molly looks out her window, noticing how modern living means oppressing the natural world. There are no weeds breaking through the side walk. Trees are contained in little boxes, evenly spaced from one another. There are no hanging flower baskets. Butterflies do not flirt with cold hearted business women with fake press on eye lashes. These modern women are far too busy crunching numbers with their blackberries to appreciate such simplistic beautY.
